Police Execute Search Warrant at Home Connected to Witness in Tupac Shakur Murder Case

Las Vegas police have executed a search warrant at a home in connection with the 1996 drive-by shooting of rapper Tupac Shakur. The home is linked to a witness who has long been known to investigators and whose nephew was considered a suspect shortly after the murder.

The witness, Duane “Keffe D” Davis, is the uncle of Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, one of Shakur’s rivals. Anderson denied involvement in the killing and died two years later in a shooting in Compton, California.

The search warrant was obtained by the Associated Press and reveals that investigators were looking for items related to the murder of Tupac Shakur. Police collected several items from the home, including computers, a cellphone, hard drive, documentary documents, a Vibe magazine featuring Shakur, bullets, photographs, and a copy of Davis’ memoir.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has confirmed the search warrant but has not indicated whether an arrest is imminent in the rapper’s slaying.

Neighbors reported seeing officers detain two people outside the home while the search was conducted. The case is currently being presented to a grand jury in Las Vegas.

Tupac Shakur’s murder has remained unsolved for nearly 27 years, and the case has been surrounded by conspiracy theories. Davis, one of the few living eyewitnesses to the shooting, has expressed his willingness to speak about the incident, claiming to know the larger story behind the killings of both Tupac and another rapper, Biggie Smalls.

Shakur’s death occurred in 1996 when he was shot multiple times while riding in a car in Las Vegas. The investigation into his murder has been hindered by a lack of cooperation from witnesses.

The search warrant at Davis’ home has once again brought attention to the unsolved murder of Tupac Shakur and the ongoing speculation surrounding the case.
