Box Musk Announces Cage Fight with Zuckerberg to be Streamed on XBox

Elon Musk has revealed that his potential in-person fight with Mark Zuckerberg will be streamed on his social media site X, formerly known as Twitter.

The two tech billionaires recently agreed to a “cage match” face-off. While Zuckerberg is trained in mixed martial arts and has completed his first jiu-jitsu tournament this year, Musk has been training for the fight by lifting weights.

Musk announced on Sunday that the fight will be live-streamed on X, and all proceeds will go to charity for veterans.

However, it remains to be seen whether Musk and Zuckerberg will actually step into the ring in Las Vegas, as Musk is known for making impulsive tweets without following through. Nonetheless, the banter between the two has garnered significant attention.

The spat began when Musk, who owns X, responded to a tweet about Meta preparing to launch a new Twitter rival called Threads. He sarcastically commented on the world becoming solely under Zuck’s control with no other options. In response, a Twitter user jokingly warned Musk about Zuckerberg’s jiu-jitsu training, to which Musk replied, “I’m up for a cage match if he is lol.”

Representatives of X, Meta, and the Ultimate Fighting Championship, which owns the venue where the fight might take place, have not commented on the matter yet.

Musk’s decision to stream the fight on X is part of his efforts to turn the platform into a “digital town square.” However, his previous Twitter Spaces kickoff event faced technical issues and a significant delay when Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced his presidential campaign.

Musk cited server strain as the cause for the audio-only event’s problems. However, the number of listeners reached a peak of around 420,000, far from the millions of viewers that televised presidential announcements attract.

Unique Perspective:

The idea of Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg getting into a cage fight may sound like a bizarre spectacle, but it also highlights the fierce rivalry and competition in the tech industry. While the occurrence of the fight itself remains uncertain, it’s clear that both Musk and Zuckerberg are driven individuals who are not hesitant to engage in publicized banter. The fact that Musk plans to stream the fight on his platform X showcases his ambition to transform it into a prominent social media platform. This event, regardless of its actual realization, serves as a reminder of the intense battles for dominance that take place behind the scenes in the world of technology.
