LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels continued to gather postseason awards when the honors have been handed out Friday evening.

Daniels, named The Related Press participant of the 12 months on Thursday, gained the Davey O’Brien Award as the highest quarterback in faculty soccer, and Payton Wilson of North Carolina State gained the Chuck Bednarik Award as the highest defensive participant.

Daniels, a San Bernardino, California, native who transferred to LSU from Arizona State in 2022, led the nation’s greatest offense this season because the Tigers gained 4,946 yards in 12 video games (412.2 per sport). He handed for 3,812 yards, third nationally, and his 40 TDs passing have been tied for first with Oregon QB Bo Nix, who performed in another sport than Daniels.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Daniels additionally rushed for 1,134 yards and 10 TDs. His 50 touchdowns speeding and passing mixed, together with a 2-point conversion on a passing play, made him accountable for a nation-high 302 factors.

Daniels is a finalist for the Heisman Trophy alongside Nix, Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. and Ohio State vast receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

Wilson was concerned in 138 tackles for the Wolfpack with six sacks, one pressured fumble, two fumble recoveries and three interceptions.

Harrison gained the Bilitnikoff Award as the highest receiver, Graham Nicholson of Miami (Ohio) gained the Lou Groza Award as the highest kicker, and T’Vondre Sweat of Texas gained the Outland Trophy because the excellent inside lineman.

Earlier this postseason, Notre Dame’s Xavier Watts gained the Bronko Nagurski Award, a separate honor recognizing the highest defensive participant.
